Being helpful

Being helpful and helping those around us is something we are taught since we were small. We were taught to help out by picking up our toys, taking out the garbage, cleaning our rooms and so forth so we can be helpful to others lighten and lessen their load.

Helping eventually becomes part of our daily life and we see that we help without even knowing. Whether we give someone a pen when they ask, holding the door or giving the right of way we always help others in some way whether big or small. Being helpful is very important because it shows people we care about them and have complete respect for them. When we offer our service and assistance to someone we acknowledge that we care about them want to help out of their difficult situation and make things easier for them.

Islam rewards acts of kindness whether they be small or large, the prophet (s.a.w) said that removing something harmful from the road or smiling and giving a cheerful face to the people around us it is a charity and that Allah loves small deeds that are done with consistency.

Being helpful does not just provide a smile to those we help but us too

This means that with little acts of kindness we are rewarded greatly for them and by helping others we feel a sort happiness when we see them happy. Happiness is in making others experience happiness and not just satisfying ourselves. Being helpful makes us selfless and allows us to put those who need our help whether in the slightest form or hardest and gives a sense of self pleasure knowing that we were one of the reasons why a person’s live can change for the better.
