Friends... From the last post on this topic, this is the word I ended with. Friends are what teenagers hold dear. They are the people teens want to prove themselves to. Teenagers are in the age where emotions run faster than their though process. This means they base their judgements on how they feel, not what they think and this can be a bad thing. Friends are not bad and having a good set of friends can even make you be a better person but the problem is when they are not. This proposes a lot of problems as a crossroad emerges, do you stay with this group or abandon them?? For teens this is a challenge, if your aim is to prove yourself and make a statement, jumping ship and walking out is not an option and most of the time this becomes problematic. If someone or a group people expect you to constantly prove yourself and alter yourself to fit their standards then that is not a friends. Avoid perfectionism

Perfectionism is not the best trait to have as a person. Doing something in the right way makes us feel like we know what we are doing and that we hate not know how to do things. Trying to do something in the best manner possible is not a crime, but dying for it to go perfect is a problem. Perfectionism makes an individual happy when they do things perfect and upset if they do not. It is not about doing you best or getting it right, it is about doing what you are doing to the maximum level of perfect. The implications with this is that one cannot do something perfectly, then they are upset and feel like they are a complete failure. It also creates fear of trying something new as they become concerned of not being able to do what needs to be tried right. This can lead an individual to fall behind as their mindset becomes, I either I am good at it or I will not try it. Failure is a natural process in our lives.
