Share holidays together
The arrival of holidays are welcomed very dearly by everyone. Everyone looks forward to the rest ad relaxation that comes with the holidays, but when kids are present that may not be the case. For many parents the holidays are spent entertaining the kids and making sure that they have a good time, this happening at the cost of sacrificing one’s personal holiday.
Going out and having fun is essential for all of us but the key is that it has to bring us all together. Spending time with your kids is the most important part of the holidays, holidays were made to allow rest from one’s busy lifestyle and allow for rest with family to occur. However, the spirit of spending holidays as a family has turned into making sure that the kids are fully entertained and satisfied with their holidays. Making this happen means that families spend a lot of money during holiday periods going outside to fine dining and ares of fun entertainment. Because of this many families do not spend quality time together as no one is focused on the other. Eventually everyone returns to their busy life without making the most of the free time that could have been spent together.
Everyone wants a relaxing holiday but changes have to be done to make sure we make the best of our holidays.
Some things that can be done is:
- Pre-prepare your holidays
Pre planning holidays is essential to making the most out of your holidays. Think about what you want to see happen in the holidays and how you want to spend it with your kids. This way you will not repeat the same activities and can try a variety of new things and even times you want to stay at home in an orderly manner.
- Make the most out of quality time
Weeks of school and work have come to an end and the holidays is the best time to catch up with each other. This period allows you to fully communicate with your kids and make full contact with each other. Fun things you can do is ask them what part of School they best like to remember, what was the funniest moments they like and what parts did they find challenging. In turn they can ask you the same about your work so you can have a healthy communication between each other.
- Share the holidays together
Making sure your kids enjoy the holidays is important but it is equally important that you get a part of the holiday too. As parents we believe that as long as our kids have a good time then that is good enough for us but deep down kids love that everyone is happy. They love to see a complete family unit that is happy and would love that you enjoy the holidays too.
Holidays are happy periods that are always anticipated and when shared together make it worth while.
